Description

Ok, I decided to make my own ballad for the unsung heroes, so now I guess they're not so, "unsung".

Anyhow, the writing in the image above is French, and seeing as how I don't speak one word of French, I had to use a translator, so some words may be off...Oh, and you'll want to download for the more readable view.

(Below is the ballad in English)

Ballad of the Unknown Heroes

The darkness crept across the fields.
Light failed time and time again.
It seemed as if all hope was lost.
Then the six heroes of man appeared.

The darkness fought with vigor and vim.
But the heroes were not willing to fail.
One by one the dark's soldiers began to fall.
And the dragon arose to answer the call.

The heroes beheld the vicious sight.
Almost losing their will to fight.
But amongst these heroes was a half-elf,
A crimson blade within his hand.
With this blade he rallied his troops,
And charged forth into the depths of hell.

With the man was a necromancer.
His black cloak drenched in blood.
Summoning the demons of hell,
He fought along the man with the crimson blade.

As they watched the blood stained heroes,
The other heroes began to regain their strength,
And rose once more to fight with the dark.

A dark elf risen from darkness.
With his spear and magic,
He fought the evil with the spirit of a wolf.

A human warrior who had fallen from grace.
Dressed in dark azure armor,
His body possessed of the essence of rage.

An elf of the Glassy Woods.
Trained in the holy ways of Falis.
His power of healing providing strength.

And last another half-elf rogue.
His spirit filled with sorrow.
His fight was not on the field,
But within his own soul.

With one last hope the heroes of man fought through the dark.
Their blades stained with the blood of their enemy.
They fought with honor and bravery,
But the dragon proved to be a powerful foe indeed.
It's fiery breath fell from above,
And pierced the skin of the heroes.

The heroes lay still,
And the dragon laughs at is fallen prey.
But the hopes of man were not to fall.
As the man with the crimson blade rose to his feet.

Battered and broken,
The man moved forward.
The dragon asked,
"Why do you fight?"
Looking up at his foe,
The man smiled as he replied,
"For that which may never come."
With the swing of his blade,
The dragon's head did fall,
And light began to shine once more.

These six heroes of man,
Their ideals were not of the light.
They were but men holding onto hope.
The hope of a tomorrow which may not come.
